Our Terms and Conditions of Sale
Surv Essex Terms & Conditions
Hey there! Thanks for choosing Surv Essex. We’re here to make property planning and architectural projects as smooth and transparent as possible. Below you’ll find our Terms and Conditions. They may not be the most exciting read, but they’re here to make sure we’re all on the same page and that things go off without a hitch.
1. Welcome to Surv Essex
We’re Surv Essex, and our mission is to provide top-notch architectural services for homeowners, builders, and businesses alike. Our office is based at:
Building 13, Thames Enterprise Centre, Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury, Essex, RM18 8RH.
When you decide to work with us, you’re agreeing to the terms outlined below. If anything seems unclear or you have any questions, just reach out.
2. Your Quote and Fees
How Long is My Quote Good For?
Your quote is valid for 30 days from the date we send it to you. This gives you a bit of time to make your decision without worrying about price changes.Payments
To get started, we ask for a 40% deposit—this helps cover initial costs and reserves time for your project. The remaining balance is due once the project is done or just before we submit plans to the local council. Our payment terms are 14 days from the invoice date. All of this helps keep things moving quickly for everyone.Scope of Work
What’s included in your project is described in your quote. If anything extra comes up, we’re happy to add it—but please note that additional services will come with an extra charge.
3. Can I Cancel My Project?
Cancelling on Your End
We totally understand that life happens and plans can change. You can cancel anytime by giving us written notice. If work has already begun, you’ll be charged for the time and resources we’ve put in so far—including the non-refundable deposit.Cancelling on Our End
If we need to cancel (for reasons like breach of agreement or failure to provide access), we’ll do our best to let you know why. In such cases, you’ll only be billed for the work completed.
4. What We Need from You
Access to Your Property
We need reasonable access to your property for surveys and assessments. If we can’t get in at the arranged times, this could delay your project or result in extra charges.Accurate Information
Make sure the details you give us are accurate. If we find any discrepancies that cause delays or require extra work, additional charges may apply.
5. Our Promise to You
We’ll work hard to deliver the best service possible and provide accurate surveys and designs using the latest tech—like our 3D laser scanning. While we always strive to meet agreed deadlines, please note that some things, like council approvals, are beyond our control.
6. Submitting Your Plans
We’re happy to handle your planning applications and building regulation submissions. However, the final decision always rests with local authorities. Although we’ll prepare everything with great care, we cannot guarantee approvals (but we’ve got a pretty good track record!).
7. Who Owns the Drawings?
Until Full Payment is Made
The plans and drawings we create are ours until your payment is complete. This means they’re for your use only and shouldn’t be passed on, resold, or modified. After Full Payment
Once you’ve paid in full, you’re free to use the drawings for your project—but only your project. Sharing or reselling them isn’t allowed.
8. Liability and Coverage
Limits on Our Liability
We can’t be held responsible for things like indirect loss, project delays, or increased building costs. We do everything we can to avoid these scenarios, but sometimes, things happen that are beyond our control.Indemnity
You agree to keep us protected from any claims, liabilities, or expenses that arise from improper use of our plans.
9. Insurance
For your peace of mind, we carry Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance. Feel free to ask for a copy if you need it.
10. Have a Complaint?
We value your feedback. If something isn’t right, please reach out by email at [Insert Email Here] or send us a letter to our office. We’ll acknowledge receipt within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 28 days.
11. Privacy and Confidentiality
Your privacy is super important to us. All information you share with us will remain confidential, and we won’t disclose anything to third parties without your permission, unless required by law. You can read more about our privacy practices in our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing Law
Our Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If any disputes arise, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
13. Data Protection and GDPR Compliance
We comply with all relevant GDPR regulations to keep your data safe. We only use your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Force Majeure
Sometimes things happen that are out of our hands—like floods, strikes, or other disruptions. In these cases, we can’t be held responsible for delays or cancellations, but we’ll do our best to keep you informed and minimise any inconvenience.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may occasionally need to make updates to these Terms and Conditions. We’ll let you know of any changes, and continuing to use our services means you agree to the new terms.
